Now that the New Year is finally here, grandly welcomed by our loud, raucous, celebratory cheers and now that we have sobered up, it’s time to look at our resolutions and a little beyond them. Times are grim and expensive. We just survived the fake-impending apocalypse, now before we push our lucks a little too far and explode the planet and our pockets, it’s time to get a little responsible and go solar. Because you know too well how reliable, eco-friendly and economical they are. But if you still have doubts as to why solar panels should be sprawled all over your look, here are a few reasons-
Exempted from control of government agencies or large corporations
The best benefit that comes in the form of the solar panels is electricity independence, because, basically you are generating your own power. And, this power doesn’t really require any connection to any outside agency like the government electricity supplier. Moreover, solar panels depend on the sun, which is free and abundant as compared to reliance on sources like coal that facing some serious risks of depletion.
Beat rising electricity prices
Considering the current scenario, nothing seems to be more dreadful than the sight of the electricity bill that seems to be heading only in one direction: north. This is mainly because of- as mentioned earlier- the steadily depleting reserves of coal. In contrast, the sun doesn’t seem to be going out of a job anytime soon, thus making solar panels a feasible option.
Investment
Like I said, the electricity prices seem to be heading only northwards and this isn’t going to change anytime soon. The best way out of this unending escalation and into some economic stability is via solar power. Granted, that gaining returns takes a long time, but instead of losing more money every now and then, you’re paying a fixed price that’s going to take care of your power expenses for the next 25 to 30 years or so.
Extra income!
In countries across the globe, the government pays incentives-like feed-in tariffs, for those who install solar panels. In addition, if solar panel owners supply electricity through their solar panels to a grid, they are paid a premium. In these expensive times this is nothing but a blessing in disguise.
No moving parts
In an age where convenience defines almost every action, you don’t want to settle for anything that sends you amok every alternate day for a repairer or worse, a therapist. Chill. Solar panels are a one-time-install thing. You mount it on your roof or on a pole; you won’t have to bother about their maintenance for at least the next twenty years.
No waste, no noise, no dust
Think about it, what waste can the sun as a form of energy, possibly generate? As for noise, they are panels- silent things that just lay there basking in the sun producing good profitable energy for you. Even the inverter works noiselessly. And dust? Has standing in the sun made anything dusty, ever? Maybe sweaty, yes, but definitely not dusty. So just imagine you don’t have to go about picking waste, or soundproofing anything or cleaning the house or the roof. What more could a homeowner want?
Boost the value of your home
Everyone has finally come to realise the importance and long term benefits of solar power. So it doesn’t come as a surprise to see people jump onto the pro-solar bandwagon sooner or later. Obviously, then, when a prospective house-buyer finds a house that is solar-powered, he isn’t going to waste any time in sealing the deal. This serves as a perfect opportunity for you to add more value to your property. Given the current scenario, the real estate market seems to be leaning towards energy efficient homes. So it’s only a matter of time before your home becomes the next hot property.
Set an example
I don’t even have to explain how easily people start to follow trends set by one person. Once people realise that something works well for one person, everyone wants to do that thing. And if it’s you they have to follow, why not set them an example that only, in a way, saves the planet, but also profits each person and the locality as a whole. It won’t be long before you’ll be considered as the “Pioneer Of The Local Solar Revolution”.
